Memorials
Here are some pics from my visit to Camp Cooke (Vandenberg AFB) and Los Alamitos Reserve Center (home of the 40th ID) in June of 2001. Below are pictures from Washington D.C.
The Korean War Memorial is constructed of South Dakota granite weighing 25,000 pounds. The block in the front represents the 40th Infantry Division at Camp Cooke. The bridge symbolizes combat training in Japan. The third piece represents the Division in Korea. The monument was dedicated September 1, 2000.
